Dear Parents/Caregivers,
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year at Sheldon-Williams Collegiate. We look forward to another year of learning, growing, and helping students achieve their full potential.
A few reminders as we kick off the school year:
-all school divisions continue to ban the use of personal electronic devices (PED) during instructional time in kindergarten to Grade 12. This policy is intended to lessen the negative impacts of personal electronic devices in classrooms and support teachers and school staff in promoting a productive classroom environment. The directive recognizes that some students may have medical or additional needs that require the use of a personal electronic devices. Exemptions may be approved when the PED is required for specific medical accommodations or learning adaptations as recommended by a physician or health professional. Additionally, teachers may request the use of personal electronic devices for planned specific instructional purposes. These requests will require prior approval of the school administration.
Our policy is included in our updated handbook.
-we want all of our Spartans to be successful and this means that attendance and engagement in class are paramount for success. We need your help to support your Spartan but also to push them to be their best every day. The handbook above outlines expectations for each of these areas so we can find success day by day.
-our main communication tool will be Edsby so please make sure you and your Spartan are set up and engaged with this useful tool. For assistance please contact our awesome office staff.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact school administration through Edsby.
We hope everyone has a great start to the new school year!
